Today was my last full day of camp. I am exited to see my family but sad that I have to leave. I loved learning/seeing new things. I learned a lot and made some new friends, I also enjoyed or guest speakers and our teachers who taught me a lot. The new concepts I learned like polynomiography stretched my boundaries of learning.
I also won the polynomial contest along with Ryann and Sophia. We won the book Equations and Graphs.
We also played some games on the computer. Here are the links to them http://www.scholastic.com/blueballiett/games/pentominoes_game.htm and http://www.sporcle.com/ andhttp://www.web-games-online.com/mastermind/.

Today we started off the day by learning about Maria Agnesi.  She was a child prodigy, she knew Latin Greek Hebrew French and Spanish. She was also gifted at the field of  math. She took care of her 21 siblings and spent the rest of her life helping the poor.
We also learned about Factorials, Pentominos, Fibonacci/Fibonacci numbers, and the Golden ratio. We went to one website ,Sporcle, and played a game called mastermind.
I also was the closest to the estimate today and won a Western key chain. Here is another one of the pictures i did.

Today was my second day at math camp. Our special woman today was Ada Byron Lovelace, born in 1815. She was daughter of poet Lord Byron. She was gifted at making model boats and enjoyed gymnastics, dance, and horse back riding. Unfortunately she suffered from various illnesses in her life and died in 1852.
We also used some algebra tiles. The tiles were broken up in 3 groups, x, x^2, and 1. We multiplied, factored, and divided polynomials by using algebra tiles. Then we learned the counting principle, when there are M ways to do one thing, and N ways to do another there are M times N ways to do both.
We also did an estimation on a poster and I got the closest to the exact answer so I got the poster!!!
There was also 3 guest speakers who talked to us about there jobs and how they use math in th real world.

Hi, I'm Isabella. Today was my first day at math camp. We learned about one of the first female mathematicians, Hypatia. Her dad taught her math as a child. She was unfortunately murdered in 415 A.D. We also learned about Venn Diagrams. We did some fun activities to learn about each other using Venn Diagrams. We played a card game called set. We also learned about polynomials and polynomiography. It's making art on the computer out of math equations. Here is one of the pictures.

I've learned a lot already and I'm SOOO excited to see what we will be doing next!
